La Jolla Country
Day School Parents' Association
is a wonderful way to become involved with our
children's school community with the dedicated parents
that take time out of their busy schedules to enhance
our school of choice. All parents of Country Day
students are invited to join the organization and
volunteer in their areas of interest. To learn more

volunteer page. Your
$40 membership dues per
family help to fund a variety of school and
school-related activities that benefit our community
including: |
- Community
Building - The Welcome-to-School coffee,
Back-to-School Picnic, Parent Socials, Partnership
Coffees, Booster Club, Country Day Arts Alliance
(CDAA) and summertime gatherings for new families
are designed to welcome new families and get
acquainted before school begins.
- Classroom
Assistance - Room parents and parent volunteer
aid with field trips, parties and other activities.
They help coordinate the relay of classroom
information from teachers to parents. The
Parents' Association's Info-Pak program keeps
parents informed and facilitates communication with
LJCDS families. The PA also organizes Community Day
and Teacher Appreciation Week, provides library
volunteers, and assists with the Book Fair.
- Fundraising
- The Parents' Associations major annual auction gala
fundraising event and gift wrap sales campaign provide
financial resources to fund teachers' wish lists,
provide tuition assistance, increase the endowment,
and contribute towards specific capital projects.
- Faculty & Staff
Recognition - The PA purchases gifts three times
per year to thank and honor the ongoing hard work
and excellence of Country Day's faculty and staff.
In addition, PA volunteers organize and serve four
buffet luncheons during the year. Finally,
Teacher Appreciation Week is a fun filled week of
pampering for the faculty, organized by the room
parent coordinators of each division.
